Purpose of the Privacy Policy

Cardiff RSL Club Limited is registered under the Registered Clubs Act 1976. The Club is required to comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act 1998 (“Privacy Act”) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which regulate, among other things, the collection, storage, quality, use and disclosures of personal information.

What personal information do we collect?

Personal information is any information that can be used to identify a person, no matter how it is collected or recorded. The kinds of personal information we collect include, but are not limited to:

  • Name, residence, email and other addresses, telephone numbers, social media participation details
  • Gender, age, interests, occupation, club PINs or passwords, identification details (driver’s license, etc.), and payment information
  • Details of contact with the club, photographs, CCTV records, and details of activities or dealings with the club including player reward accruals

The Club collects this information from you through membership forms, renewals, competitions and promotions. Your personal information is stored securely in our systems. Hard copy information is either securely destroyed, stored on-site, or in secure off-site storage.

The Club collects this information in order to:

  • Identify you and process your membership application
  • Meet statutory requirements under relevant legislation
  • Contact members to advertise and market club activities and services
  • Analyse usage of club facilities
  • Provide and administer goods and services offered by the Club

Visitors and Guests

Under the Registered Clubs Act, patrons visiting our Club must produce suitable identification such as a driver’s licence, passport or proof of age card. Cardiff RSL Club uses an electronic sign-in system that may scan your ID for faster and safer processing. You may request not to have your ID scanned.

Use of the information you provide

Cardiff RSL will not use your personal information for any purpose unrelated to the primary purpose for which it is collected. This includes:

  • Delivering requested products and services
  • Providing information about those products and services
  • Personalising your experience with Cardiff RSL
  • Reviewing, managing and enhancing our services
  • Developing reports for board and annual meetings
  • Communicating with you

We will not use your personal information for purposes you would not reasonably expect.

In addition to the primary purpose, Cardiff RSL may also use your personal information for:

  • Providing you with news and updates
  • Sending marketing and promotional materials
  • Communicating via email, phone, or mail
  • Investigating complaints or breaches
  • Complying with legal requirements
  • Disclosing details to the Chief Health Officer of NSW under CovidSafe practices, if required.

The Club may disclose your information to third parties providing contracted services, under confidentiality and security obligations.

Access

You may request access to your personal information by contacting the Club.

Information Storage

Personal information is stored in controlled environments for seven (7) years. All employees are bound by confidentiality agreements to protect your privacy.

Surveillance inside our venue

Cardiff RSL uses surveillance systems. Visitors may be recorded while on premises. Recordings may be used to assist with incidents and are only disclosed when required by law.

Quality and accuracy

The Club relies on members to provide accurate information and takes reasonable steps to ensure data is current. If your information is incorrect, please contact the Privacy Officer to request a correction.

In the event of a data breach, the Club will follow the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner’s data breach notification guide.

Complaints

If you wish to make a complaint about how your personal information is handled, please submit it in writing to the Secretary Manager (Privacy Officer) using the contact details below.

Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy

In the best interests of our members, guests and the community, we promote the responsible service of alcohol at all times.

The Responsible Service of Alcohol

Responsible serving of alcohol is vital for legal, health and community reasons. Our society is less tolerant of irresponsible use that leads to drunkenness, drink driving and underage drinking. We recognise the serious problems associated with such behaviour.

Cardiff RSL Club strategies for Responsible Service of Alcohol:
  • House Policy providing the framework for responsible service
  • Training staff to implement and promote the policy
  • Educating patrons about responsible drinking
  • Preventing underage drinking
  • Promoting safe transport options
  • Implementing, monitoring, and updating the Club’s house policy
  • Requesting proof of age (driver’s licence, passport, proof of age card)
  • Preventing intoxication by recognising signs and refusing service
  • Managing intoxicated or disruptive patrons safely
  • Promoting non-alcoholic beverages and food options

Our Responsible Serving Practices Aim To:

  • Prevent underage drinking
  • Prevent or manage intoxication
  • Prevent violent or disruptive behaviour
  • Prevent drink driving

Intoxicated, Violent or Quarrelsome Behaviour

The Club does not allow intoxicated, violent, or quarrelsome behaviour on or around its premises. Alcohol will be served professionally, courteously and responsibly. We will not serve anyone to the point of intoxication.

Children in the Club

Cardiff RSL is a family Club. Parents must supervise their children at all times, and children must remain in the immediate company of the accompanying adult.

Dress Rules

To maintain our high standard, patrons are asked to observe the following dress rules. Appearance must be clean, neat and tidy at all times. The following are not permitted:

  • Offensive or obscene clothing
  • Scarves, bandannas, or hair rollers
  • Bare feet
  • Training apparel, swimwear, or leotards
  • Hats or caps
  • Football, bicycle, gym or boxer shorts
  • Singlets or sleeveless shirts
  • Dirty or soiled clothing, overalls or footwear
  • Sharp studded belts or similar items

Dress Rules

Management’s decision shall be final in all matters relating to dress rules.
